Jill Yersak, Ph.D. 

 

Dr. Jill Yersak, Vice President, Mission Strategy, joined The ALS Association in October 2015. In her role, she supports the coordination and integration of mission activity that spans care services, research, and advocacy. This includes strategic planning, performance measurement, and program development. In this role, she leads mission programs including the ALS Roundtable Program and the ALS Focus survey program. She is also responsible for communicating ALS research in an accessible way by developing and giving research presentations tailored to people living with ALS, caregivers, and loved ones. She provides ALS Association-wide support, at the national and throughout the chapter network and in all departments with research information needs.

 Dr. Yersak received her bachelor’s degree in biology at Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa., and her Ph.D. in molecular cell biology at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, with a focus on neurodegenerative diseases. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship in neuroscience at Brown University, where she focused on ALS research.
