On May 19, The ALS Association Greater San Diego Chapter will present our 6th Annual ALS Fiesta. Each year, the Fiesta brings out the ‘fun’ in fundraising while supporting our mission to discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest.
In 2020, the ALS Fiesta highlighted Care Services. This year we turn to information and inspiration on ALS Research and like last year, our ALS Fiesta video presentation will have powerful presenters with live elements and will be approximately one hour in length.
Although 2020 brought more significant challenges than ever before for people, families, and caregivers affected by ALS, last year was another example of how our ALS Community is better and stronger when we join together.
With your help, our chapter met the needs of 273 families affected by ALS in 2020 through a variety of services, including special programs for patients and caregivers, home visits and care management, the loan of durable medical equipment, educational resources, and collaborations with our local ALS multidisciplinary clinic at UC San Diego to help ensure patients receive the highest level of care possible. We are grateful to our clinicians and healthcare professionals, ALS subject matter experts, partners, sponsors, donors, volunteers, and leaders in the community who have engaged in incredible ways to do ‘whatever it takes.'
